Chapter 7: The Prison Cells Building:
The Cells building has 3 floors and you are on the top floor. Each floor is square and has 4 doors. All those doors are locked and you have to open them.
Go to the door on the left wall and look at the door. Then look at your compass. The top point of your compass is white, so this means you are facing north.
The door you are now in front of is the North Door. You noticed that there is a gray hatch next to every door. There is a red button and a yellow button on those gray hatches The Red Button is to open the door, but none of the doors will open now. The Yellow Button is to open the hatch. If you open a hatch by clicking on the Yellow Button, you will no longer see the Red Button. But you will see 3 boxes. You will see small red buttons above and below the 3 boxes. If you click on the red buttons, small "Braid mats" will appear in the boxes. You can put 14 different looking "Plaiting Mats" in each of the 3 squares by clicking on the red buttons. Each "braiding mat" always looks slightly different.
So you first must figure out witch "Braid Mats" are the correct "mats" for each door When you're facing the North Door then turn around so that you are facing the door on other side. The door on the other side, so directly opposite the North door, is the South door. The door on the left is the East door and the door on the right is the West door.
Open the 4 doors:
In front of each door there are 3 boards with lines drawn on them, on the railing. If you stand in front of the North door and then look at the South door, you will see the 3 boards that belong to the South door. If you are in front of the South door and then you look at the North door, you will see the 3 boards that belong to the North door. If you are standing in front of the East door and then look at the West door, you will see the 3 boards that belong to the West door. If you are standing in front of the West door and then look at the East door you will see the three signs that belong to the East door........like this
Now first stand in front of each door and then look at the door on the other side and then, for yourself, draw the line pattern that you see on the 3 boards at each of the 4 doors. Do this accurately because you must be able to recognize those lines. So if you stand in front of the North door and then look at the South door, you draw the 3 line boards on the railing in front of the South door and note that these 3 boards belong to the South door. Do this for each of the 4 doors. If you are able to place the correct 3 "Braid mats" in the hatch at each door then .... the door will open when you click the red button.
In Book 6, which is stored in Column 6 in your Library Column map, you have you have seen pages with "Braid mats". Well ... You now need Book 6 to be able to determine, for each door, what the correct 3 "braid mats" are that you have to set in the 3 boxes of the North door, the South door, the West door or the East door. And youneed the lines that are on the 3 railing boards in front of the door. On the basis of the lines on those boards you can determine which "Braid mat" you need for which door.
In book 6 you see a "Braid mat" on every page. Around the "Braid mat" are squares with lines. On the basis of the line pattern on the boards in front of the doors you have to recognize, via the squares, which part of the "braid mat" you have to place near a door in the left box, the middle box and the right box.
This is where my explanation ends, because Knut Müller is now going too far with his logic in my opinion. This door puzzle is almost impossible to explain. I have understood what to do and how to "translate" the directions on the railing boards to the squares on the pages of book 6 to find out which 3 pieces of "Braid Mats" to set at each door, but I can't explain it logicaly to you, and certainly not in English witch isn't my native language. So I'll leave it here and now just give you the right solution in the form of screenshots for each door, and I'm hoping that it all looks the same in your game as in my game
Here are the correct "braid mats" that you must put into the boxes at eacht door on this top floor
So go to each of the 4 doors and open each door first by placing the correct 3 "Braid mats" in the 3 squares of the hatch. You do this with the red buttons above and below the squares. In the screenshots below you can see how, in each box, the correct piece of "Braid Mat" should look like. If you have the correct 3 "Braid Mats" in the boxes at a door, click on the Yellow Button to close the hatch again and then you click on the Red Button to open the door. If the door does not open when you click on the Red Button then you have not set the correct "Braid Mats" in the boxes.
When you have opened all 4 doors, we will see what is behind the doors. Behind the North door you enter a hall.
A map of this top floor hangs in the hall. If you stand in front of the map and then turn to the right you will see a gray door that we will open later.
Look at the map. On the map you see male drawn. That is the hall where you are now, so that hall is behind the North door. In the left corner is the exit / entrance to the ladder and the West door. On the right is the East door and below is the South door.Copy the map over on a piece of paper so that you can use it to look at at when you go do your route through the cells in a moment......If you do not copy the map overr then you will get hopelesly lost
If necessary, print out my picture of the map and put it next to you. There are always 2 cells behind the East door, the West door and the South door. You will see red dots in the cells. Those red dots are doorknobs. Number all the rooms on your plan drawing, starting in this hall, A to K.
So you are supposed to end up in cell D so that you can open that hatch and get the crystal. Unfortunately, the doors of the cells are interconnected. If you click on one red button, a cell door will open, but another cell door will close again. Number the red buttons, starting in CellB, 1 to 8. Your floor plan should then look like this:
In Room K of the library you found a book with maps. That book is stored in column 16 of your Library column map. On the 4 pages in that book you see the layout of this top floor and you see which red buttons opens / closes which cell door
On page 1 you see that button 1 is linked to the cell door of cell I.
Open Cell E and grab the Green Crystal:
The solution I'm going to give now only works if all cell doors are still closed when you start. If you have already opened a cell door yourself, my solution will no longer work. Then make sure that you have closed all cell doors first. You must always remember that you always have to open the North Door, the East Door, the South Door and the West Door via the red doorknob. Always check the map to know where you are.
Step 1: Go to the East door and enter B. Turn right and click on button 1.
Turn around and you will see a window with a gray box
Step 2: From B you go to the West door. Open the West door and enter Hall J. Turn left and see ... the door of cell I is open.
Walk to cell I and press button 7. Turn around and walk back. Open the West door via the orange door button and step outside.
Step 3: Go to the South door. Open the South door and enter F. Turn left and press button 3.
Turn around and see ... via cell G you can now go to cell H. Don't do that.
Ok....you're on your own now.....no more screenshots until you can go take the green crystal. You now know the drill, so follow all the next steps and if you don't know were all the cells and buttons are then look at your map
Step 17: Walk to the round blue hatch in Cell D. Click on the button in the slot and then take the Green Crystal 02.
Now you have to open the gray door in A, behind the North Door. Go to Cell I and click in Cell I again on button 7 to close the door of Cell G again so that button 4 becomes visible again. Go back to F and then click on button 4 in cell F to open the gray door in hall A now. Now go back to hall A via the North door. Turn right in hall A and see ..... the gray door in hall A is now open.
So step outside and follow the balcony to the right around the corner and to the window of hall B, behind the East door. Next to the window is a gray box on which you see the letter A 3 times and an orange button. Name this the A box / A window. Below the A box hangs a paper with a blue circle on it. The arrows above the blue circle point to the window.
Turn around and walk back to hall A and go back in through the North door. Go to the East door again, open the East door and enter Hall B again. Turn left to the window. You are now on the inside of the A box / A window. Open the box to the left of the window and press the orange button. The red light will now turn green. Click the orange button again. The light will now turn purple. Click on the orange button again and ... the light will now turn blue. Leave it that way because the circle under the window, outside, has told you that this light should be blue.
Go back, through the North door and hall A, to the balcony and the A box/ A window. Press the 3 buttons and notice that yellow boxes appear next to the A's. If you keep clicking on the A's then all 8 squares are yellow. If you click on the orange button, the yellow boxes will disappear again.
We need more information for this A puzzle and then we'll come back here.
So turn around again and go back in via hall A and the North door. Turn right and go to hall K and then back down the wide ladder to the outside. You are back in the square courtyard. Turn around, walk to the east door of the lamp room, open the door via the orange button and enter the lamp room again.
In the lamp room, turn left to the south door. Click on the door button of the South door and then turn off all 8 flashing lights so that the South door opens. Go through the South door into the courtyard where you found the 1st green leaf. Then turn left and walk to the stone stairs. Go up the Stone Stairs and you have landed on the middle floor of the Prison Cells Building:
Prison Cells Building: Middle Floor
The middle floor is turned a quarter of a turn in relation to the top floor. This means that the 4 doors here are now not North, East, South, West but Northeast, Northwest, Southwest and Southeast. You can recognize the doors by the direction of the white point of your compass.
If the white point of the compass points to the top right, you are in front of the Northwest door.
NB: I have struggled with the correct directions for the doors here a bit, so it can be that I have named the doors here the wrong way. But the "braid mats" for each door are correct, and is as in the screenshots
You have to open these 4 doors first and you have to do that in exactly the same way as you did with the 4 doors on the top floor. In front of each of the 4 doors there are again 3 boards with lines on the railing. Copy those boards and note which door they belong to. Then look in the "Braid Mats" book, in Column 6 of your Library Column Map, which "Braid Mat" you should have for each door. Then enter the 3 correct pieces of "Braid mat" at each door, in the 3 boxes behind the door hatches. I will suffice again to give the correct solution via images.
Behind the Northwest door you will find Key B. Take it
Behind the northeast door is an outside balcony
Behind the Southwest find a Golden Hourglass (Double cone). Take it
Behind the Southeast door you will find a Golden Isocaeder. Take it
Behind the northeast door is an outside balcony. Go up this outside balcony.
You look at the entrance of the Annex building. Turn left on the outside balcony and then look down. You will see a closed door under the roof.
There is a tree in front of the house and above the orange shelter you see a closed window and a drainpipe.
Look up again and turn right and walk to the end of the balcony. Turn around and look up.
Above the balcony you can now see the concrete edge of the top floor balcony. In the concrete edge you see a panel with triangles and boxes. Make a copy of this because it is the solution for the A box at the A Window on the balcony of the top floor
Look down again and turn left and now step through the narrow doorway into the Extension (Annex) of the Cell Building.
Annex: Upper floor:
You are in a long hallway. In this corridor there are 3 rooms on the right. You are now in front of the front room. Go inside.
First Room: General Room
There is a portrait of a General on the wall. The General has a large triangle in his hands. The General has a pattern of white and black squares on his chest.
Hey .... where have you seen this pattern before? Copy it. Turn right. You look into the side room.
Because of the orange flowers on the walls, we will call this side room the:
Orange Flower Room:
There is a green button to the right of the doorway. There is a Symbol Machine in the room.
Go inside to the Symbol Machine and then turn left. There is a window in the left wall. The shutter in front of the window is open. Leave the window open
Turn back to the Symbol Machine. Use the 2 blue buttons to place different figures on the screen. Click on the blue buttons and you will notice that you can get 10 different figures in the screen. You will recognize some of these symbols as the Flower Symbols that you saw in the windows of the Pavilion. On this machine, you must now place the Orange Symbol of the Orange Flower from the Pavilion. It's the circle.
Turn around and step back into the General Room. In General room you now see a closed door. Step forward and then turn back to the Orange Flower room. Now press the green button to close the door of the Orange Flower room. Turn right and step back into the corridor. Turn right and now go 3 clicks forward through the hall and then turn right. You are in front of the middle room. Just pop in and look around.
The middle room is a bare room but has a closed door in the right wall. Step back into the hallway and turn right again.
Walk forward 3 clicks and turn right again. You are in front of the back room:
Last Room: Soldier Room
Go inside. The portrait of a Soldier hangs in this room.
The Soldier has a spiral in his hands. The Soldier also has a pattern of white and black squares on his chest. Copy it .
Turn right and......... in the right wall is a closed door. Turn right and.......To the left of the doorway is a panel on the wall. On this panel you see a circle that's divided in two halfs by a vertical line. The right half of vthe circle is divided in two halfs by a horisontal line
Copy this circle because it's for the new area. Also notice and copy the position of the 4 screws with witch the panel is screwd on the wall
Exit the room. Follow the corridor back to the front and then go back over the outside balcony to the middle floor of the Prison cell building. Now leave the building again via the stone stairs and continue to the tree in the back of the courtyard. Then turn right and walk to the south door of the Lamp Room. Open the door and step back inside.
Open the East door again and then step outside and go back up the wide ladder to the:
Prison Cells Building: Top Floor
The A Window
Go through the North door again into hall A and then on the outside balcony to the right. Continue to the A Window with the A box.
Via the clue that you saw on the outer edge of this balcony, when you stood on the balcony below you, you now can solve this A-puzzle. If you have not made the light on the inside of this window blue before, you have to do that first. However, I am assuming you have already done so. The 3 A's on the box each have a line. The top A has a line at the top, the middle A has 2 lines and the bottom A has a line at the bottom. Well ... if you take the drawing of the concrete balcony edge, you can recognize the 3 A in that drawing in all those 8 triangles that are on your drawing.
"Read" the drawing from left to right and you will know in which order you have to click on the 3 A buttons.
So click on the 3 A buttons in this order: middle A, bottom A, top A, top A, middle A, top A, bottom A, middle A and then press the orange button and ....
......You hear the sound of a door closing / opening........The door to hall A is now closed. Turn around and walk back to the door.
On the outside of the door you now see a drawing of all colored bars. Draw this over again.
There are arrows at the brown crossbars. Draw those arrows exactly like that in your drawing.
Then go back to the A Window and press the orange button again to open the door again. Go back to the:
Step back in through the East door and open the South door again and go back across the courtyard to the Stone Staircase. Now do not go up again via the Stone Stairs to the Middle Floor, but turn right before the Stone Stairs and then open the round metal hatch via the orange button.
Go through the tunnel and you are back at your rail cart.
Turn left, forward and then left. You are again in front of the metal door, to the right of the round metal hatch.
Press the red door button to open the door and then go forward and you will end up on the:
Prison Cells Building: Ground Floor
This ground floor has, just like the top floor, a North door, an East door, a South door and a West door. But the doors are moved 1 position. But there is another 1 difference......... In the corner, between the South door and the East door, is an opening through which you end up on a balcony at the top of the Water Cave.
First go stand on that balcony and then look to the left through the water cave. You will then see the windows of the rooms in the Annex.
You can see that the Annex consists of 2 floors. There are 10 windows, 5 above and 5 below.
These are the windows of the side rooms, such as the Orange Flower room. All those windows have shutters on the inside that you can open and close.
You saw the clue for this window puzzle in rooms A and L of the Library. If you put those 2 clues together, you get the following:
So you see thast you have to open some windows and close some other windows. We will soon solve this windows puzzle. Walk back inside and now open the 4 doors again by setting the correct 3 "braid mats" behind the 4 door hatches. Again you can use the lines on the railing boards to find the right pieces of braid mats in book 6 for every door. I'm just giving you the right solution for every door here. The North Door is therefore the door that was the East Door on the top floor. Always check your compass to see if you are standing in front of the right door and then place the correct 3 "braid mats" behind the door hatch at each door.
The North Door opens the path to the House with the shelter, that you saw from the balcony on the top floor
Behind the East door is the ground floor corridor of the Annex.
The Southdoor opens the path to the entrance of RHEM.
Behind the West door you find Key A.....take it
We now first go to the House with the Shelter.
House with shelter: The Bridge Switches Puzzle:
Bridge Switch 4:
So go through the North door and then 1 click forward. Turn right and go forward 2 clicks to the tree in front of the house.
Zoom in on the tree and then grab Leaf B that appears. Also write down the 3 whistles of the bird that you hear: long, short, short,
Turn left to the door of the house. Pull the pull ring on the top right of the door to open the door, then step inside. You are standing in front of a shutter that is in the wall. Open the shutters and you will see the Bridge Switch 4. Above the switch is a square with a circle. Draw the square again and add that it belongs to Bridge Switch 4. Then click on the switch until you see that the bridge rises. Make a note of which orange dot the switch is on. That is orange dot 2.
Then click the switch to the 3rd orange dot to lower the bridge again. Then click the switch back to the blue dot.
Close the shutters and turn right and you see a ladder and a panel on the wall. Go look at that panel that's on the wall
This panel has a circle that is divided in two horizontal halfs. The top half is divided in 2 halfs by a vertical line. Copy it over because you'll need it for the New Area. Also notice and copy the position of the 4 screws with witch the panel is screwd on the wall. Climb up the ladder and when you're uphen turn around and go diagonally to the right, to the large window. You're then standing in the window.
On the right is a yellow button and in the room on the other side you see a cupboard on the wall. Click on the yellow button and .... on the other side a light under the box will light up. Turn back to the ladder. Now you also see a window in the other wall. Take a look through that window. You will then see a wall of a room with a doorway. It looks like that room is underwater.
Climb back down the ladder and open the shutters of Bridge Switch 4 again. Put Bridge Switch 4 again on the 2nd orange dot to bring the bridge up again and now leave the bridge up. Close the shutters. Climb back up the ladder again and stand in the large window again and ....You can now go to the other side via the bridge.
Bridge Switch Room: Green Crystal 03
So go over the bridge to the other side. You are in the Bridge Switch Room. Look around.
There are 4 boxes on the wall and at the right wall is a hatch with a green button on the wall. Each of the 4 boxes has an orange button.
On the 4 Bridge Switch boxes you see the circle drawing of 1 of the 4 Bridge Switches, which you have drawn over. So you can recognize from those drawing which Switch box belongs to which Bridge Switch. If you click on the orange button, the box will open and you will see a circle with 7 red dots. The center of the circle is a switch with a line that you can turn. In each Switch box, click on the red dot where you had to set the Bridge switch on to make the bridge go up, and the red dot you click on is then pressed. Then click on the switch so that the line of the switch is exactly as in the circles that you saw above the bridge switches.
In the box for Bridge Switch 1, click on red dot 7. Then set the switch to dots 7 and 3.
In the box for Bridge Switch 2, click on red dot 6. Then set the switch to dots 7 and 3.
In the box for Bridge Switch 3, click on red dot 5. Then set the switch to dots 6 and 2.
Turn around and go to Box 4
In the box for Bridge Switch 4, click on red dot 2. Then set the switch to dots 1 and 5.
When you have set all 4 switches correctly then the hatch in the back wall has power.
Stand at that hatch and click on the green button under the hatch to open the hatch. Then raise the button in the slot and then grab the Green Crystal 03.
Turn right and go back across the bridge to the other side. Climb back down the ladder and go back to the bottom floor of the Prison Cell Building. You enter again through the North door. Now go to the East door, to the left of the North door. Open the East door via the red button in the door hatch and step into the hallway.
You are in the ground hall of the:
Annex: Ground floor rooms:
Hand signals, Earrings and the Windows puzzle:
Portraits of men and women hang in the rooms here. The men give hand signals with their hands and the women wear earrings. You have to recognize the hand signals of the men and you have to know the colors of the earrings. So write everything down. You can identify the hand signals of the men in Book 14 of the library Column Map. So always look in this book and note for each male portrait what kind of hand signal the man makes.
First room: Napoleon room
Turn right and enter the First Room. There is a portrait of Napoleon. Napoleon is holding a ring and on his jacket you see white and black boxes again. Copy it.
Turn left and enter the front middle room.
Light Green Flower Room.
There are 2 portraits on the left wall. They are a man and a woman. The man is a Monk and the woman is a Catwoman.
The Monk makes the FYQ signal with his right hand and the UAF signal with his left hand. The colors of the earrings of the Catwoman are: Black, Black, Black. There is a window in the right wall. You look into the Water Cave through the window and the shutter of the window is open. Leave the window shutter open. Turn left and enter the next room. This is the:
Light Blue Flower Room:
In this Light Blue Flower Room there is another Symbol Machine. Set the symbol of the blue flower from the Pavilion on the Symbol Machine. It's the X.
On the right another window with an open hatch. Close the window shutter of this window. On the left the portrait of an officer and a green woman. The officer makes the LUZ signal with his right hand and the PUZ signal with his left hand. The earrings of the green woman are: Black, White, Black ..
Turn left and step back into the Green Flower Room. Then turn around and close the door of the Blue Flower Room by clicking on the green door knob. This now opens another door on the top floor of the Annex. Go back to the hallway via the Napoleon Room and then continue to the:
The Middle Room has no portrait. Turn left and enter the Dark Blue Flower Room.
Dark Blue Flower Room:
On the left wall are 2 more portraits. De Man makes the QYP signal with his right hand and the LAL signal with his left hand.
The earrings of the woman are: Black, Black, White.
The window in this room has an open shutter. Close the window shutter. Go back to the other room and turn to the entrance of the room.
A drawing hangs on the wall on the right. Zoom in to see the drawing large on your screen.
Then copy the drawing. The drawing has are 4 faces. Under each face is a geometric symbol. The compass on the drawing makes it clear that the top face is North, the right face is East, the bottom face is South and the left face is West. Click the drawing away again. Turn right and now close the door of the Dark Blue Flower Room. Turn back and step back into the corridor, turn right again and now go to the end of the corridor. At the end of the hall is a blue-gray door that you can not open yet. So turn right and step into the back room.
Back room: George Washington
The portrait of George Washington hangs on the wall here. George is holding a cylinder and on his jacket he wears a pattern of black and white squares. Draw this pattern again.
To the right is a closed door that can not be opened here. Turn around and step into the Red Flower Room.
Red Flower Room:
On the Symbol Machine, set the symbol for the Red Flower from the Pavilion. It is a diamond with lines at the points of the diamond.
The window shutter is open here. Leave the window shutter open. No portraits here. Enter the George Washington room again, then turn around and close the door of the Red Flower Room. Go back to the hallway and follow the hallway back to the Bottom Floor of the Prison Cell Building. So you enter again through the East door
.Exit the Cell Building via the exit, open the door via the red button and turn right. You will see your rail cart again, but you will now also see a blue panel in the "frame" of the door.
The panel has an orange handle, 3 bars in the colors yellow, red, blue, and a green button. Again you have no idea what to do with it, so stay away from it until you have more information about this panel. Go to the round hatch, open the round hatch and crawl through the tunnel back to the courtyard. Turn right and go up again via the Stone Stairs to the Prison Cells Building: Middle Floor: Go through the northwest door again and then back through the balcony to the Upper corridor of the Annex:
Annex: Upper Corridor
Orange Flower Room
Stip into the General room, turn right to the closed door of the Orange Flower room.
Press the green button to open the door and step back into the Orange Flower Room.
Turn left. The shutter of the window is open. Close the window shutter now. Turn left and ... see ... the other door is now also open.
That's because you closed the doors of the other two flower rooms in the lower hallway.
Step into the General Room and then turn around and close the door of the Orange Flower room again. Turn around and step into the:
Yellow Flower Room:
On the Symbol Machine you set the symbol of the Yellow Flower from the Pavilion. It is a cross with a diamond in the middle.
Turn right and close the window shutter. Turn left and you will see 2 portraits on the wall again.

Leave this room but close the door of this Purple Flower Room.
Now follow the route back to the Lower Floor of the Prison Cells Building.
Prison Cells Building: Lower Floor:
Go back to the balcony in the Water Cave and then look to the left again, at the windows in the Annex.
If you have now closed the correct window shutters in the various flower rooms in the Annex, it now looks exactly like the instructions you saw in Room A and Room L of the library.

Go back to the corridor and then turn right to the door at the end of the hall. Press the red door button and ..... if you have now set the correct Flower Symbol on all Symbol machines, this door will now open. If the door does not open, you have placed the wrong symbol on one or more of the Flower Symbol Machines.
Step through the open door. Do not go down the spiral staircase yet, but immediately turn left. You look outside.
At the end of the protruding "bridge" is a Green Crystal box. Go there, click on the button in the slot and then grab the Green Crystal 05.
Turn around, walk back inside, turn left and now descend all the way down the spiral staircase. You end up in a tunnel. On the left is a gray box.
You can not open that gray box now, so walk to the gate at the back of the tunnel. Don't you recognize this place? You are back in Rhem 2 The Cave. This is the cave with the swing bridge from Rhem 2 The Cave. There is nothing else you can do here, so you now have to go back to where you started with. so turn around and walk back and up the spiral staircase. Open the gray door via the red button and follow the corridor of the Annex back to the Lower Floor of the Prison Cells Building. So you enter again through the East door.
Now go to the South door and open that door.
Chapter 8: Back to the Beginning: Apartment of Kales:
2021: Walkthrough door: Louis Koot
