Where and how to find all 20 Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Books:

I made this guide in 2014, in Dutch, when I played this game....I no longer have this game
There are a total of 20 Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Books in the Tex Murphy Tesla Effect game and if you manage to find them all, you will receive an Extra Save in your Save Game folder of the game at the end of the game... ..that Extra Save is then day 13 and allows you to enter the Chelsee room of the Ritz hotel. Here is the list with all locations of the 20 Comic Books:
8 Comic Books can be found in and around Chandler Avenue.
You can take your time in Day 1 to collect all 8 Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Books first.
The Key Largo comic Book is located in Tex's office, next to the Fax machine.
In Tex's bedroom, the Candyman Rings Twice comic Book is on the left nightstand.
Tex's bedroom is also where you'll find the collectible board where the game will automatically set up each Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Book once you grab 1.
When you have found the 2 Comics in Tex's Office, go outside and then via the iron stairs into the alley.
If you want to collect the other 6 Comics first, you can do that ....
...... the game really does not require you to immediately do the really important things .....
...... it is best to start looking for the other 6 Comics first . Walk to the end of this alley. You can then turn left and right.
Turn right up the stone steps and ..... you will find Comic 3 in the right corner.
Turn around and walk up the 2nd stone steps and then continue to the street
In the distance you will see the Coit Tower, look to the left ......... the street ends and there are some car wrecks.
The large wreck lying on its side lies in front of a demolition building.
Enter the demolition building and then up the 2 stone stairs to the 2nd floor.
You will find Comic 4 on the 2nd floor
Grab Comic 4 and descend the stairs back down and then back up the street.
Now go back to the alleys, so to where you found Comic 3
Walk back down the lowest stone steps and then straight ahead, through the opening in the fence and you will find Comic 5
Walk down the stone steps and then turn left around the corner and ......
Comic 6 is then on top of the stone steps, in front of the door.
Grab Comic 6 and then walk through and then turn right and ....... Comic 7 found
Turn around, walk back into the alley and then down the alley to Chandler Avenue.
Follow Chandler Avenue to the left, to the Palace Hotel and then look to the right .... You will see the Warehouse.
Go to the Warehouse and you will also see Liama Club.
Look at the Liama Club and then turn around and ..... you see the decaying Savand School building:
Enter the Savand School and climb up the 2 flights of stairs....
You end up on the roof of the school and here is the 8th Comic Book .... of course you pick it up.
If you now go back to Tex's bedroom, you can do that quickly via the Map, ........
....you will see that you have indeed collected all 8 Comic Books that can be found here in and around Chandler Avenue ....
Now continue playing the game by doing everything you need to do in Day 1 and Day 2 to make the Beach House available.

The Sleep with the Swedish Fish Comic Book can be found on the floor, left and then in the top left drawer.
Sesen: Part One:
2 Comic Books are hidden in Sesen.
Of course you first have to make sure that Sesen becomes available to Tex so that he can travel there. Tex then enters Sesen for the 1st time
However, the entrance to Sesen is blocked by a forcefield and you have to disable that first.
Continue to the entrance. Left and right a pillar with turning stones.
Stand right in front of the right pillar and then remember the symbols you see on the 5 stones.
Go to the left pillar and also stand directly in front of it and then turn the 5 turning stones in the pillar so that the same symbols are in front of the pillar as on the right pillar. So always walk back to the right pillar to see which symbols you have to turn on the left pillar ......on the front side of the pillar ......
....... the force field then disappears, so open the large gate and walk through and .........
Tex then reports that he needs a Key to open Sesen's wooden doors and Tex automatically travels back to his Office.
Back in your office, the fax machine calls that you have received a fax, so walk over to your fax machine and rip out the Fax ....
The anonymous sender of the fax wants you to meet him at the top of Coit Tower. If you have visited the Coit tower before, you can now go there via the map function of your Smart Alex. If you haven't been to the Coit Tower before, you have to walk all the way to the tower. Leave your office and go through the alleys to the street where the Golden Palace hotel is and .......
........ then climb all the stone steps to the entrance of the Coit Tower. Enter the tower and in the tower with the elevator up
..... the elevator doesn't take you all the way up, so get out of the elevator and then climb all the stairs and .....
Tex ends up on top of Coit Tower and now meets an old acquaintance from his Overseer case. ....Big Jim Slade.
...Go through all conversation options and Big Jim Slade will give you the Sesen Key. Travel via the map function of your Smart Alex back to:
Sesen: Part Two:
Walk to the wooden entrance doors and use the Sesen Key on the lock in the wall ....
Then open the doors and step into the front hall. You have to do a lot here in Sesen and this part consists of 3 parts. I'm not doing a walkthrough here but just showing you where to find the Mike and Ike Hammer Comics. Walk to the next doors. You need an iron hook here in Sesen and this Hook is hard to find, so I show you where that hook is.......The Hook lies on the plinth of the Arthur statue that stands to the right of the entrance doors of the Cathedral...
..... so grab the Hook and go through the doors and you are in the Cathedral. Walk to the altar to start the cutscene........
So you have to look for 7 Egyptian symbols and for that you will have to solve some puzzles. I'm not going to spoil this search for you here any further. Go to the door in the right wall and go through it. You are then in the Living Quarters .... in an intermediate hall. The door on the left takes you to the dormitory and the other door to the dining room. In the corner you pick up the Rope. Enter the Dining Room
Through the dining room you go to the Headmaster's Bedroom. In the Headmaster's Bedroom you walk to the right side of the bed and ......
under the pillow is your 11th Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Book. It's the Root Canal book
Now go solve the puzzles here, so find all 7 Egyptian symbols and then place them on the altar in the Cathedral and then go through the 2nd part of Sesen.
Solve all puzzles in the 2nd part of Sesen and you will end up underground ......
Sesen Part Three:
I assume you know what to do here. In the right hallway you will find the Storage Room and the Headmaster Office.
You must first find the Security Key in the Storage Room ... You will find the Security Key in the Storage Room on the floor, but you have to look very carefully because the thing is almost invisible. Have you found the Security Key then continue through the corridor to the Headmaster Office,
Open the Headmaster Office door with the Security Key found on the floor of the Storage Room. Then go inside and to the desk.
Stand to the left of the desk chair and open the bottom left drawer and ...... take your 12th Mike and Ike Hammer Comic from the drawer .....
It is the The Not So Thin Man book ....
since we are here .... There is a cupboard in the Storage room and you have to open it.
The key for that cupboard can be found in the bottom right drawer of this desk .....
Now play through the game making your own choices here and there, until Tex can travel to the Swamp House.
4 Comic Books, 13, 14, 15, and 16, can be found in and around the Swamp House:
When you get to the point where Tex travels to the Swap House, he will end up in the front area of the house. The bridge over the ditch is broken, so a ladder will first have to be put together. The water in the ditch is poisonous, so make sure Tex does not come into contact with the water. In and around the Swamp House, the Mike and Ike Hammer Comic 13, 14, 15, and 16 can be scored.
There is a shed on the right. In front of the shed is a wheelbarrow and a wooden tub. Go to the back of the shed. There is a ladder at the back of the shed. However, the ladder is broken because the thing is missing 5 rungs. There is a hammer on the stool. The ladder must be made because not only is Comic Book 13 on the shed's roof, but you also need the ladder to "close" the hole in the bridge
Grab the Hammer, which is on the stool. You now have to look for 5 planks with which you have to repair the ladder. Those 5 planks are scattered here and there in this front area. Planks 1 and 2 can be found here behind the shed. Plank 1 is at the bush behind to the right and plank 2 is at the right end of the ditch.
Plank 3 is right in front of your Speeder and plank 4 is in the bushes to the left of the bridge
Plank 5 floats to the far left in the ditch.
When you have collected the 5 planks you walk back to the front of the shed.
Behind the wheelbarrow is a bucket full of nails.
There is a pile of firewood against the shed. The door is locked with a special lock, for which you have to find the key in the Swamp House.
Grab the Nail Bucket. Now that you're here, grab the top piece of firewood from the pile. You now have 5 planks, nails and a hammer. Go to the ladder. Stand right in front of the ladder and click on it briefly so that the ladder is "selected". Then open your Smart Alex and your inventory. First combine the Planks with the Nails via the 2 combination boxes and then combine the whole again with the Hammer and then click the Hand and........
Like an accomplished carpenter, Tex then repairs the ladder.
Don't take the ladder just yet, but now climb up the ladder to the roof of the shed and.....
....... then take the 13th Mike and Ike Hammer book, which is displayed on the shed roof
This is the Cinnamon Twist Comic book.
Climb back down the ladder and grab the ladder now to carry the thing with you to the bridge.
Stand on the front half of the bridge and then place the ladder over the gap in the bridge.
A screwdriver floats in the ditch ...... you need a screwdriver in the Swamp House, but if I were you I wouldn't try to fish the screwdriver out of the ditch with your bare hands. Walk up the ladder to the front door of the Swamp House. The front door is locked.....a security card is required to be swiped through the card reader.
Walk across the porch to the left corner and then around the corner. You will find a small metal box.
Open the box and look inside and then take out the red Security card ....
Back to the front door and pass the security card through the card reader and ....... the doors are locked. Open the doors and go inside. You now get the cutscene in which Tex meets Mantis. You have to use an answer option a few times and then Mantis disappears back out. When the cutscene is over Tex is standing in the hall of the inner garden. Walk into the garden and then go into the right corner and then grab the bags of Flower seeds .... you need the seeds for the medicine that Tex has to brew for Mantis.
Also look in the other corner, where you see a UV lamp hanging .... with that UV lamp you will have to grow the plant here later.
Go through the doors into the hall.
In the hall are the stairs to the first floor and the front door and a sliding curtain behind which the living room is.
In the corner, next to / under the stairs is a bookcase. Enter that corner.
When you are in the corner next to the stairs you will also see a chest.
Open the doors of the bookcase and .... and walk through and .........
there is a pliers in the cupboard and ...... under the box is the 14th Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Book.
Well....take the Mike and Ike Hammer book, it's the Sucker's Game Comic book. Also grab the Pliers because you also need them for the puzzles here in the Swamp House. Turn around and now enter the Living Room through the sliding curtain. Walk a little and then turn around. You look back at the sliding curtain. On the left and right is a table with a drawer in it. Go to the left table and open the drawer and ..... take your 15th Mike and Ike Hammer Comic.
This is the Malt Tease Falcon book. Go back to the hall and now up the 2 stairs.
On top of the small landing is a low cabinet under the window and ......
..... bottom left of the cabinet is the 16th Mike and Ike Hammer Comic Book .... go get it
This is the Double Fudge Indemnity Comic book.
If you now travel back to Tex's office and look in his bedroom, you will see that you have actually collected 16 Mike and Ike Hammer's.
Still 4 Comics to go, but you will only find them in the Tesla factory and to get there you will have to do a lot first.
Return to the Swamp House and solve all the puzzles there and continue playing the game

The Dark Chocolate book is on the 1st floor in Conference Room 1, on the right side.
The Butterscotch on the Rocks book is on the 1st floor in the toilets (restrooms) and then in the 2nd loft.
The Angels with Chocolate Smudges book is located in the Reactor Room on the 3rd floor, in a drawer near the door.
The Licorice Forest Comic book is on the 4th floor, in the back of the room with the chair.
When you have found all 20 Comic Books and then complete the game, regardless of the ending, you will find a Save for Day 13 in your Save.
Then load that Save, via Load, and .... well ... enjoy this extra chapter of game, which you will not experience if you don't find all 20 Comic books
